The Fabulous Baker Boy + Ben&Jerry's

Jinx came down to my workplace to meet me for lunch yesterday :) It's so nice to see each other during the weekdays, which is not often at all for us.

Went to The Fabulous Baker Boy at The Foothills, 70 River Valley Road. Have alway seen it from afar but have never gotten to chance to go over and try their food.

The ambience was pretty nice too, definitely a great place to relax. It may however, be slightly warm on sunny days since it's all outdoor seating. Unless you come during the night haha.

Ordered eggs benedict because I had a craving for it! It wasn't too bad - but slightly plain I guess, with only potatoes on the side. We added $4 for 4 pieces of chicken sausages.

Ordered Iced Americano to try. I'm not a coffee person at all, more of a tea person. But I've been playing so much "I Love Coffee" (the Line game lol) that it kind of influenced me to try drinking coffee haha!! Siao right.

Don't know why but it tasted a little sourish though, felt like I was drinking herbal tea even after adding sugar syrup. So ironic, like back to drinking tea. Maybe they left the shot glasses there too long before pouring into my drink lol.

Blueberry cake! Really nice, creamy and buttery. And it looks so pretty too. The cake comes in a huge slice, so full die you if you attempt to eat this by yourself. Or maybe my stomach not much storage space lol!

Enjoyed my time here nonetheless! Their staff were super friendly. And the owner just bakes cake all day right in front of the cashier. So you can actually see him in cake making action, piling on cream layer after layer and all haha. Wish I had a job like that. Would probably go back again, but during the night for some drinks!

TGIF!! Colleague drove us to Dempsey Hill for lunch today :D Had another stomach exploding meal at Samy's Curry. Rather expensive though, like one piece of chicken was $4.80?? And the briyani rice alone was $3.80 zomg.

OH WELL! It's Friday, spend more and just be happy. I don't know what logic is that but whatever HAHA.

Walked over to Ben&Jerry's after that to grab a drink. I love Kombis~!~!~!~! Wish I owned one too D': Saw a lot of these vehicles at Bangkok. They would open mobile bars and just place simple chairs and tables around it. Add on the alcohol and some music and voila! There you have it, a bar. Super chillax one.

I love the interior of the place! Looks like such a nice place to be on a weekend date night. Hmm :) Hopefully it won't be too noisy then though. Feels so cosy, and there's a live band stage too!

AND THEN - I ordered this drink. Was so thirsty I just walked in and blindly ordered a milkshake without looking at the price on the board. It was bloody-eyeball-dropping $13.90!

Nehmind, nehmind. To be fair, it was nice lah. Haih I don't know what to say. How about.....YOLO?

TGIFFFFF!!!!!!

Gyu-Kaku at Anchorpoint

Thinking Jem (the new shopping mall beside Jurong East Mrt) was already opened, we travelled all the way to the west side of Singapore - only to find it closed lol.

Just thought of going somewhere different and refreshing, since we were bored of the same old places. Typical Singaporean complaining of nothing to do in our country here haha.

Ended up watching "Now You See Me" at Jcube (front rowwww wtf) and then headed to Queensway because Jinx wanted to get sports shoes! When we were taking the bus, we saw Gyu-Kaku and had this "are you thinking what I'm thinking B1? Yes I think I am B2" kind of moment with each other lol. And we were just thinking of eating cheap hawker food a few minutes before -_-

BUT IT WAS WORTH EVERY CENT LAH!!!! WE LOVE GYU-KAKU :'))))))

Beef tongue, I can't eat beef but Jinx LOVES this. The usual "melt in your mouth" kind of thing lah.

The sauces also goes really well with the bbq-ed meat! Made me feel like my mouth was in heaven. Left is sweet sauce, right is spicy sauce. I dipped with both together. Adding a little salt makes the meat extra tasty. :D~

Hot stone spicy ramen with minced chicken. Also really good and flavorful! Ordered one to share. The waitress even offered to help us split the portion. Their service was really good. Super attentive and changed our bbq grill often. :)

We initially picked a 600g pork meat platter when we were ordering but the waiter recommended a 400g one because he said the former one may be a little too much for 2. I liked that he was honest haha.

Saved us a littttle $ too and it was indeed just nice. There were 4 different types of pork meat and I loved all!! Not too fatty like other places where I would separate all the fat and dump one side haha. Ate EVERYTHING for this one whoo!

Best bbq place we've ever tried in Singapore so far. We both enjoyed every moment of it. And best of all, I just realised we didn't smell like walking bbq-ed meat after we left haha!

Why is this place so awesome :'))))))))

Little Part 1 Café

Made a trip down to Little Part 1 Café for our monthly café hopping meet-ups! It's located at 15 Jasmine Road, right next to Thomson Plaza :) Haven't been to this area in such a looong while! Since secondary school days wow.

We somehow ended up going through the backdoor, which had a barrier in front of it. Had to climb over/below/through it to get in, a bit tak glam lol. The owner looked kinda shocked when we walked in from behind like it's humanely impossible or something.

This! - is the humanely possible to enter front entrance. Some movie title sign going on here. It's along a stretch of shophouses. The place was pretty quiet for a Sunday afternoon, which is actually nice because we're away from the crowd for once. I don't know about night time though, since they serve alcohol too.

The owners made the place look cosy and homely, filled with lots of random collections and vintage stuff.

A photo framed wall with pictures taken from their overseas trips! Loved this. Made me feel inspired to do one too~ I just really like the personal touch to it :)

Bookshelves filled with vintage and travel books. On the top sits many old collectable items too! Love their collection of vintage cameras <3

To be honest, their food was pretty so-so. They don't serve the usual brunch kind of food so we ended up ordering sides to share instead.

Hot chocolate with big fluffy melty marshmallows!

Buffalo wings. A tad too sourish, maybe too much tabasco sauce haha. Guess people who love Tabasco will love this! Other than that, it was not too bad.

The never ending curry fries. We kept eating this but it didn't seem to reduce lol!

The Shepherd's Pie was nice. This was my favorite dish among the rest! Had a nice and warm home cooked taste to it. Really tasty too! :)

Walnut cheesecake. Nothing too fantastic about this. Was a little to sweet for our liking and the crust wasn't orgasmic enough hahaha. I'm a huuuuuuge fan of cheesecake by the way!

My primary school friends, Tina and Joceyln :) Really glad we re-united about 2 years back and have been meeting up monthly for some good café hunting.

It's nice to just sit down with some good food and drinks while exchanging happenings in our lives -  although at this stage we're mostly ranting about how we're getting older and don't wish to be stuck in our mundane jobs and doing the same routine everyday.

All 3 of us really want to do something we love for a change, maybe even setting up our own café. Hopefully this dream will become a reality someday :) All it takes now is to take that daring step forward!

Rediscovering that I have this blog - a year later.

Hello I'm back here again! It's been a looooooong while. I should really continue updating for my own sake. Like for memories in the future. That will be nice. Since I always love to look back at my past photos and laugh at my Spongebob Squarepants face and so on. [-.-]

First things first, I need to bring out the shutterbug in me again. Those photo crazy moments have died off quite a while back, like ever since I started to work.

ZOMG Prue, you cannot turn into a boring worm! Do it!

Signing off with a random picture we took during the Halloween Horror Nights 2012 at USS! It was by far, the best Halloween ever for me! :D

Across the Sea

Had a short getaway for a day to Batam! We went on the 1 day tour which includes the ferry ride and seafood lunch. The place felt very much like Malaysia, but slightly more rundown at certain areas. We had a full body massage for $15 too! Jinx nearly screamed out loud because he's ticklish everywhere. LOL!

On the penguin ferry. Felt so much like our Bintan trip earlier this year!

Looking like a smug policeman here.

And then I realised its fisheye effect potential.

Makes a good mirror too.

Went to this huge temple where people can even hold their weddings! And we were told that we could take pictures ANYWHERE in there with no restrictions, which explains the rare background seldom seen in photos lol.

Our first touristy photos.

Then we started playing around with the buddha statues.

WAI so cute one! Bahaha.

Eating ice cream.

<3

Touching the belly is lucky ok! Although that was totally not my intention in this photo.

Tour guide helped us take some photos!

Told him to stand there and give this faraway gaze. OKLA THIS IS A FAIL SHOT D:

Go-karting! Thank goodness the helmets didn't smell. But the go-karts were so old I felt like I was going to get flung out any moment whenever I made a turn. And it kept dying. After the third time the guys there came over and said, "Sorry sorry, no more petrol, wait we refill." O.O'''

That was my first time driving a go-kart!

Went to this miniature house park after that.

Ok, this is overly cute bahaha! I'm sorray~

Trying to act all Godzilla-ish.

And I failed miserably. DOH!

My hair got all weird after wearing the helmet ZXZXZ. How do those female heroines in movies still look so hot after taking off those motorcycle helmets (complete with glamourous hair flip)??

Someone's hungry.

:)

Blending in with the guys.

This was a freak leopard because it was so darn skinny I have nothing to say.

Want some disgusting dried piece of grass?

TOGETHER WE SHALL RULE THE WORLD!

This is my favourite picture la!! <3 <3 <3
(Because they look alike)

Fake in pain face.

Flying fox!

Paintball targets! Pretty tough to aim, must look through this and that I was getting cross-eyed @.@ Jinx was good though, he shot 6-8 targets.

Saw a cute tiny van from an overhead bridge!

A&W for dinner!

We miss curly fries!!
